Frequent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: I was featured on a Hatteberg’s People television segment. Will I be on a future edition?
Answer: It is certainly possible. Larry has nearly a thousand stories in the Hatteberg’s People segment. Only about 30 can be placed (with high quality) on a single DVD, so your story could be featured on a future release. If your story is selected for release, you will be contacted.

Question: Will every story make it into a DVD for public release?
Answer: No. In the early days of producing the Hatteberg’s People segment, many of the audio tracks were mixed together as a single track. This makes it difficult to re-do certain stories for a DVD because of the way the audio is entwined. Also, some of the earlier stories have not withstood the ravages of time. A few of the tapes where the stories were archived do not play back with acceptable quality making it difficult to reproduce them.

Question: Will there be more Hatteberg’s People Editions released?
Answer: Yes, that is the plan. Our hope is to release at least one per year. Depending on how they are received in the marketplace, it is possible more (per year) could be released.

Question: Why did Larry decide to release these stories?
Answer: Having lived in Kansas all his life, he is proud of the state and its people. The people who he has done stories on over the years have given him an education on life and how to live it. Larry wants to share these stories with the rest of the world so they can also enjoy the real Kansas people.

Question: If I have a story suggestion for one of the Hatteberg’s People segments, how do I get in touch with Larry?
Answer: Just write to him on this web site; kansaspeople.com or through kake.com.

Question: I want to see the Hatteberg’s People series on television. When and where do his stories run?
Answer: The Hatteberg’s People segment runs nearly every Sunday night during the 10 p.m. newscast on KAKE TV, Channel 10 in Wichita, KS. They can also be seen on KUPK Channel 13 in Western Kansas and on KLBY TV, Channel 4 in Colby, KS.

Question: Is the Hatteberg’s People series available on the web?
Answer: Yes! New segments can be seen on kake.com or at kansaspeople.com. Some of the segments can also be seen at: darynkagan.com.
